 Old Sleningford offers a superb venue for courses and events. Its quiet, rural location with facilities both inside and out makes it ideal for any activity to take place.
 
If you are interested in any of the courses but the dates are not suitable for you, please let us know as we can arrange alternative dates if there is sufficient interest.



Workdays

 

Join us on the first Sunday of each month for some work in our Forest Garden, agroforestry field, orchard, vegetable garden or polytunnel.

Hot food provided by us at lunch time.




Saturday 24th May *NEW DATE*
Recycled Paper Making
10am to 4pm
 
Using shredded office paper and a few bits of kitchen equipment you can make your own handmade paper. Add colours and embellishment and you have beautiful paper for writing on, wrapping presents or making in to books.
 
This day will show you the techniques for making recycled paper including adding colour, embossing, adding embellishments and making shapes. You will leave with a stack of handmade paper.
 
£60 including all materials and equipment, lunch and refreshments.
 
Book on to the Hand Made Books Course the following day and turn some or all of your paper into books. £100 for both days including all materials and equipment, lunch and refreshments.



Sunday 25th May *NEW DATE*
Handmade Books
10am to 4pm
 
Using a variety of binding techniques and hand made paper, create individual books of different sizes. The paper we will use is made from shredded office paper, coloured and embellished to create unique pages. Make a writing pad, a journal, a photo album .... the choice is yours.
 
£60 including all materials and equipment, lunch and refreshments.
 
Why not make your own paper on the Recyled Paper Making Course the previous day? £100 for both days including all materials and equipment, lunch and refreshments.



Saturday 31st May *NEW DATE*
10am to 4pm
Outdoor Pig Keeping on a Small Scale
 
If you are considering keeping a few free range pigs, then this course is for you. Subjects covered will include: breeds, considering your land, equipment required, keeping your pigs healthy and happy, feeding, legal requirements and diseases. Classroom sessions mixed with practical sessions with the pigs on the farm.
 
£50 including lunch and refreshments.



Would you like to learn how to mix and lay limecrete? Build a wooden shed or a greenhouse? Build a cob hut or a composting toilet?
