Mulching phase 1 in April 2005 with manure and fermenting cattle fodder. Trees, rhubarb and fruit bushes are planted, strawberries and herbs waiting to go in.
 
Unfortunately, these are the only photos we have of this time due to lack of camera and the thought (wrongly!) that photos of a blank field weren't necessary.
